Dear Friend or Friend to be,

Well this is the UN-official last week of summer, who out there is ready to see it end? Who has a bunch more things to cram in between now and the end of Labor Day weekend? I myself am looking forward to the end of summer because hopefully that also means the end of the heat and humidity and I can be outside again...I want to walk and go to the beach and ride my bike.... What about you what are you going to cram in while you still can?

Labor Day Weekend Events in NJ

Items Needed for Charity Rummage and Bake Sale

Items are needed!!!

Diane and I have been volunteering at Saint Marks Community Center in Keansburg helping to prepare and serve the breakfast and lunch and organize the food that comes in. They have a wonderful mission statement that you can read here: Mission Statememt
This organization got started after hurricane sandy to feed the community while they put their homes back together, the need still continues as many still do not have homes yet. Besides serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week they are also a distribution spot for USDA food that comes in for families still in need, some who are still living in shelters or even their cars! There is such a great need and they continue to find ways to supplement the donations to keep the center running and the people fed.
So on October 10th they are going to have a rummage sale to help raise some very needed funds for the center. But they need donated items to sell! 

Please remember that ALL items MUST be in NEW or GENTLY USED condition. NO rips, stains, tear, wear and/or bugs! We ask also that all electronics be in working condition.
St. Mark's will be featuring a boutique for all fine items.
Any interested donor is greatly encouraged to contact the parish office at 732-787-1075 or email us at saintmarkskeansburg@aol.com

You can take things there directly or you can bring things to me and I will take them over. Since I am not working right now I have more time so its not a problem so long as it will fit in my car. Bring them to my house or to an event but please do think of this need when cleaning our your closets and garages. Household items and knick knacks are especially needed! 

We also need baked goods to sell the day of so if you like to bake please feel free to do so and bring it over to the center the night before or the day of!

Dear Friend or Friend to be,

So how was everyone's week? Mine's been pretty frantic because I was off Monday and Tuesday and we lot our temp on Monday so the work has piled up un-mercifully! I hate when it gets to the point that it's too stressful to take a vacation because of what's waiting for you when you get back. Do you have that problem at your job too?

Dear Friend or Friend to be,

Road Trip!!! Ok I am working on psyching myself up for a road trip to Ohio. Ugh! I love traveling the US, as a matter of fact  it is my dream to travel the US every summer  with my Grand kids someday. Course I need a few things for that first: a camper, some grand kids and most importantly someone to do the driving! LOL I hate to drive! But I would like to see everything on The Perfect American Road Trip someday.... Where is the best place you ever visited on a road trip?
