I was recently contacted by a representative from
GP Homestay to reach
out to my network and see if anyone is interested in hosting an exchange
student for the upcoming school year. I am thinking this could be a wonderful opportunity perhaps for you empty nesters out there who's kids are going off to college, Single people also can apply.... When I was married we hosted a boy from Europe one summer and it was a great experience for all. I highly recommend it! So if you have a spare bedroom, are within a 30 minute drive from Middletown, have a bit of time to spare and want to earn $10,000 tax free this might be for you!

the stipend amount is $1,000 per month and the students will be coming with their own spending money. The length of stay is the for the full school year, about 10 months

All hosts receive a stipend of $1,000 each month.

The students will have their own insurance

The host should speak English at home and ensure that the student eats three meals a day.

You should provide a bedroom for exclusive use by the student.
Involving the student in family events and activities is ideal.

The host should ensure that the student is provided transportation to and from school on a daily basis. (Bus is ok if available, you pay fare)

Gphomestay supports all hosts and students with monthly check-ins to ensure they are receiving appropriate support. Live phone translation is available for emergencies from Bilingual and Bi-cultural staff
