Dear Friends,

So did everyone survive that Nor'Easter we had this week? I pretty much slept through most of it as I had a touch of the flu bug or something. But at least it wasn't snow. Pretty boring week though other than that, spent wayyyy too much time on political posts on Facebook....am working on breaking that bad habit again. Think I need a self taser or something. LOL I get upset when I see people up in arms about something that I think was a lie or misrepresentation. I also get upset when I see people protesting in a bad way (curse words, blocking traffic, vandalism) etc. But I really got to keep reminding myself that nothing I post or share is going to change anyone's minds and its time to move on to other things.... January's nearly over time for No More Politics! Who's with me?

News and Events 1-20-17

Dear Friend or Friend to be,

So how is your week been going? Mine was tough at first I lost my roommate and he gave me ZERO notice but luckily I had a new one in 2 days and she seems to be pretty kewl. My cat for one loves her and she said she will cook food for us! Typically I try and rent to people who eat out but if they cook and share I don't mind, I always help pay for ingredients, I just hate to cook. I am still working on the job hunt but also have an appointment to look into training and that will extend my benefits, I'd really rather get a job NOW as I need money for my son's wedding but at least I have this option to look into... Really hoping and praying for better days for this economy....Weather you back our new president or not, I hope we can all at least wave a flag and say a prayer for our country...

So how about that winter wonderland we had over the weekend? Did you go out and brave it or did you stay inside like a hibernating bear like me? I tell ya I hate hate hate the cold, sometimes I really wish I still lived in LA. But not really I do love Jersey and at least down here by the shore I get less snow that some. How about you how do you feel about winter? How do you spend your time when it's cold outside?  Oh and I did not get that job...so bummed...please say some prayers for me....

Well its a brand new year! How's yours starting off? Mine is awesome! My oldest boy out in Colorado got engaged New Years Eve to this totally wonderful girl and I am going to be going to a wedding this summer! Course now this means I have to save my pennies, but I am waiting to hear back on a job and if I get it money won't be a problem at all..... I must say the good lord has always blessed me in my career, each time I lose a job I get a better one. I have big dreams for this coming year and I need to afford them LOL. But I believe its all going to work out... God never gives you a dream that matches your budget because he doesn't check your bank account he checks your faith...

So 2016 was a rough year for most of us but I truly believe that 2017 is going to be much better! I know I have a lot of plans to make my life better. First order of business I signed up for a local Zumba class that I am really excited about. I am also phasing out my meetup groups, its just gotten to the point that I put way more work in there than I get back and well I am just not going to do that anymore. I also have vowed to use my juicer more, I know I need to stick to this one.... This is just for starters. What about YOU? What changes are you making in the New Year?

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! Happy Holidays to everyone else! I am more than happy to be greeted with any celebration that you care about that honors life and love and light! I hope all have some special plans for the weekend. Myself, I am opening the thrift store on sat from 9 am to noon then hanging out a bit with them there at the soup kitchen. In the evening I am cooking a small ham for Jeremy and I and Sunday will do the movie and Chinese buffet event for those who do not have plans, I know many look forward to it. Please tell me how you are spending your weekend...

One of the things I look forward to most in December these days is the new Star Wars Movie. Yes I am a geek, and I am so totally bummed that I did not stay up till midnight to get my tickets for opening night and have to go on Saturday instead but I am sure there will be plenty of energy going on on Saturday too. What about you? Do you love Star Wars too?

Needed at Saint Marks: I really really need used clothing for Men: jeans, sweatshirts, hats gloves, socks, long johns, boots...they sleep on the beach and wear this stuff till it falls apart. We let them shop free in the Thrift Store for helping out at the soup kitchen.
